California's General Election is on November 5, 2024

California’s General Election is on Tuesday November 5, 2024.

  • All registered voters will receive a general election vote-by-mail ballot.

  • Ballots will be mailed out starting October 5, 2024.

  • Vote-by-mail drop boxes will open in early October 2024.

  • Early in-person voting at Vote Centers throughout Los Angeles County will begin late October 2024.

Your ballot must be postmarked by or dropped in a ballot drop box or vote center by November 5, 2024.

Not registered to vote?

The deadline to register to vote for the general election is October 21, 2024.

Where to vote

Voting is easier than ever. You can fill out your vote-by-mail ballot at home and drop it off at any secure drop-box, or you can vote-in-person at any Vote Center in Los Angeles County.

All ballot drop-boxes open early October, 2024.

All Vote Centers open for in-person voting starting late October, 2024.

You don’t have an assigned polling place or drop-box. That means you can drop off your ballot at any drop box in LA County, and you can vote at any Vote Center in LA County.
